A few days ago me and my little sister went to visit my best friend Zahra. When we got there her little brother was showing us some magic tricks. After that we decide to dress our blythes in matching colours and take photos of them.

Next we decided to make some blythe place mats but they didn’t turn out as expected ;) .

Can you see why? Anyway it was time for lunch and we bought charcos with greek salad. Its was a very satisfying lunch. After wards we made….Choc Chip Cookies! But Kalinka was being little bit naughty she went into Zahras room and….

Soon after it was time leave. We brought home with us a muffin each and a plate of cookies it was a really fun day!!

Hello,
Do you remember this Blybe doll?

20120310-115615.jpg

Well my mum customised her into a beautiful new doll!!

First she sanded her face and carved her lips and nose. She painted the lips, added freckles and gave her new eyelashes.

Then we inserted the eyes and my mum rerooted her hair (no past experience). The hair changes colour with temperature, and is light orange when warm, reddish brown when cold. The eyes were very hard to do because blybe eye chips are hard to remove, and blythe eye chips dont fit. My mum had to use a drill to remove the eye chips and make the holes big enough for the new ones.

The Customization ( if thats even a word) was complete! Her name is Taralyn and here she is!!!

oh and i forgot to mention she has sleepy eyes!

Here are some more photos showing her eye colours which are:
glitter red
dark blue
silver
purple/green with large pupil.

Blythe Play Date

Today my best friend Zalia came over with her new blythe.  Her new blythe Izzy (short for Isabella) is a Raspberry Sorbet.  She’s so pretty.

We decided to make some blythe dresses with some felt.  My mum helped cut out the pattern and showed us what to do, although Zalia didn’t really need much help.  She was so good at it!  Her dress ended up looking awesome!

I made my dress out of blue felt and then added a white pompom trim.  Then I added a green ribbon and button.  Here’s how it turned out.

Birthday Cupcakes

Today was my birthday and I turned 10!  My mum made cupcakes for my whole class to share.  They turned out great!  I love the colours and the edible glitter that she sprinkled on them.  I think my class loved them too.  Here’s how a few of them looked.

Hi everyone Ive finally finished my mini room makeover and I’ve got some photos to share with you.

THis is how my room looked before

(sorry its a bit blurry)

And here is my new room!

Here is some things we changed:

Painting
My original room was white with an aqua feature wall. We kept almost the same colours, but used a lighter shade of aqua.

Rug
We kept my old rug but it needed a good clean! (White rugs are not a good idea). We used the pressure cleaner and washing powder to clean it up.

Ceiling Light
We found this lampshade in The Reject Shop for just $12 ! It is attached to an Ikea pendant which cost about $5.

Wall Cabinet
This wall cabinet was bought from Target. It was 20% off and it cost about $40.

Guess who lives inside?

Cushions

The white cushion was from Target and cost $20. The blue cushion was from Curtain Wonderland for $10. The silver cushion was from Baines but I can’t remember how much it cost. The small silver cushion was hand made.

Wall Hanging
The wooden wall hanging was from my old room. My mum got it online somewhere, I’m not sure where but I love it.

*update – the wall hanging was from Bride & Wolfe *

Deer Toy
Was from an op-shop. It cost 50 cents.

Bed Spread

It took us ages to find a nice bedspread that matched. Finally we found this one from Baines. It was on special and cost $80. I love the pattern and the sequins.

Silver Box

This was from my old room, and I use this to store my craft supplies in.

Tree Lamp

This was probably my favourite new thing in my room. I love the way it lights up at night. I bought it from Freedom for I think about $80 but I’m not sure.

I hope you like my new room!

The trouble with Kingston
icon1 Sumi | icon2 Pets | icon4 01 17th, 2012| icon34 Comments »

A few weeks ago we started to worry about Kingston. He kept running into things, and he would find it hard to peck his food – he kept missing! We started to worry if maybe he was blind.

Then is struck us! OF COURSE HE COULDN’T SEE! Have a look at the picture below and see if you can work out why.

I’m pretty sure you noticed he has a pretty cool afro happening. In fact his head looks like a giant pom-pom! The solution?

With some careful styling and a simple rubber band the problem was solved!

Quite pretty don’t you think?
Kingston loved his new hairstyle, and seemed to be excited at being able to see things clearly. We fed him some berries and he didnt miss a single one. That afternoon he jumped up on my mums shoulder and fell asleep.

I never knew a chicken could make such a cute and loveable pet!

Over the last few weeks I have been slowly working on a mini makeover for my bedroom. As part of the makeover I wanted to get a new desk for my room. But we didnt want to pay too much money for it.

Luckily, there was a council verge waste collection a few weeks ago and we happened to notice this old desk amongst a pile of rubbish. Pretty ugly hey?

20111228-142223.jpg

Well, it took many hours of work to fix it up.

- First we had to sand it. The top of the desk was really bad and had lots of wood flaking off the top. I sanded for hours!
- Then we had to paint it. It was really hard to get the paint smooth, and we had to sand it inbetween the layers of paint.
- We lined the drawers with some beautiful silver and white wrapping paper that we glued inside.
- Finally we replaced the drawer knobs. We chose tapered knobs with a bit of a retro feel.

Then finally it was finished! Here is some pictures of the finished product.

The pencil holder on the desk is from Typo and I think it matches perfectly!

Stay tuned for my mini room makeover part 2.
